There are numerous types of relationships to explore when considering compatibility between two signs. We grow up in a parent/child dynamic. Outside our family, we form friendships with other children and eventually other adults. We look for and find love. And, we go to work and have careers, interacting with employers and co-workers.
Each sign-to-sign interaction guides our behavior in every relationship. Read through this section to find out how each of the above dynamics works astrologically so you can experience the optimal way to communicate and get along with your sign and all the other signs.
The Taurus-and-Aquarius interaction is difficult; these signs “square off” and challenge one another. As the “I establish” sign of the Zodiac, Taurus prefers well-worn paths, plodding along, and playing it safe. Aquarius is the “I revolutionize” sign of the Zodiac and is social, idealistic, and individualistic. A long-term relationship (outside parent/child) is possible, but not necessarily comfortable. They can become connected over the long term because of their fixed natures, but one essentially is fixed on the old (Taurus) and the other is fixed on the new (Aquarius)
Taurus Parent/Aquarius Child
The Taurus parent and Aquarius child will have to be very conscious to make their relationship work. Aquarius, as a type, is usually quirky or unique in some way, focused on what is new and innovative. Taurus, as a type, prefers well-worn patterns, and is focused on what is traditional and reliable. One clear benefit for the child is having a parent that will make sure the child’s survival and resource needs are met. If the child can show the parent how a new idea can be practical and become a potential staple in life, the two will find an easier path together.
Aquarius Parent/Taurus Child
The Aquarius parent and Taurus child will potentially work better because the Aquarius really does want others to “be themselves”. Aquarius walks to beat of its own drum and will enjoy having a child as fixed and reliable as Taurus, even if they do not end up sharing the same values or way of seeing the world. There will be rules with the Aquarius parent, like with any fixed sign, but they will probably be clear enough that the Taurus child enjoys being able to move at his or her own pace.
Taurus Friend/Aquarius Friend
Taurus and Aquarius friendships are difficult, especially without the requirements of the parent/child dynamic or the romance/sex part of the love dynamic. These two signs, more than any others, will approach life in different ways, but with the same degree of “fixedness”. What makes the relationship hard to predict is Aquarius, because Aquarius can literally mimic every other sign. So, there is sometimes an Aquarius whose unique identity is Taurean, meaning they appreciate traditions and nostalgia. But, more often than not, they are looking to the future, which can just cause frustration to Taurus, who prefers being rooted in the ground and not “flying around in the air”.
Taurus Lover/Aquarius Lover
This romance, love, sex combination can be strange, but long-lasting since two fixed signs are involved. The natural elements of both signs, earth, and air, do not mix easily. The Taurus is very physical, and Aquarians are very cerebral, which can make the love, romance, and sex more like a comedy of errors than a deeply passionate affair. Aquarians love to role play and Taurus is fine with typecasting, so other factors in the chart would have to help out in the romance and sex arenas.
Taurus Employer/Aquarius Employee
The Taurus employer and the Aquarius employee match is not really easy for either unless the Aquarian is one of the versions that is Taurus-like, which is possible, but not common. Taurus is not famous for innovation and looking towards the future unless it is steady long-range planning with little deviation from the plan. Aquarius, on the other hand, loves to innovate. Basically, if the two can stay in their lanes, meaning the Taurus boss can let the Aquarius work as he or she sees fit and just deliver on deadlines, then things can work.
Aquarius Employer/Taurus Employee
If the employer is an Aquarius and the employee is Taurus, this combination is better. Aquarius likes to see a team thrive through the efforts of its individuals. Taurus will have a reliable and predictable work ethic. Aquarius leaders understand the need for each sign to do what it does best and behave how it prefers to behave. They will not try to push Taurus out of its comfort zone, because being in its comfort zone is what makes Taureans so productive.
Taurus Co-worker/Aquarius Co-worker
This combination has its challenges. A wise boss will have to determine the work attitude of the Aquarius since the work attitude of the Taurus will largely be “what you see is what you get”. If the Aquarian has Taurus-like work behaviors and attitude, then they will do great together. But if the Aquarian is one of the more social and innovative types, then a lot of frustration can arise when paired with an incompatible Taurus. And the friction will go both ways.
