Tarot Horoscope

Welcome to the Monthly Tarotscope, a combination of Astrology and Tarot/Oracle Cards. Each month I will draw a card for your sign of the Zodiac. That card represents the meditation for the month for that Sun Sign. The Sun Sign represents your Primary Drive in life, how you best manifest your Life Path, and how the light of the Sun energizes you each day. This month I have chosen to use the Animal Totem Tarot by Leeza Robertson and Eugene Smith.

Tarotscope for Aries (Mar 21 to Apr 19)

Animal Totem Tarot 9 of Cups Butterfly card

Maverick Active Fire energy fuels your Primary Drive. Your Life Path energy operates best independently; you must learn self-discipline to manifest your best results. Your card this month is the 9 of Cups.  Your animal is the butterfly and your keywords are: self-fulfillment, happiness, and satisfaction.

Symbolism: The nine cups stack neatly into a pyramid with the butterfly sitting on top, indicating a pinnacle of emotional gain and satisfaction.  The butterfly is the full expression of completed transformation, which progresses through larva, caterpillar, and cocoon.  The sunrise over a summer field represents the fullness of life that fills the world when we feel emotionally satisfied and fully aware of what we need for personal happiness.

Use this month to focus on what truly makes you happy.  If you do not know, then use this month to try to find out.

Tarotscope for Taurus (Apr 20 to May 20)

Animal Totem Tarot 6 of Pentacles Chicken card

Persistent Stable Earth energy fuels your Primary Drive. Your Life Path energy operates best when you feel secure; you must learn some degree of adaptability to manifest your best results. Your card this month is the 6 of Pentacles. Your animal is the chicken and your keywords are: generosity, success, and sharing.

Symbolism: Five of the pentacles remain behind the chicken while she pushes one pentacle towards another chicken in need.  She has enough for herself and excess, which she can generously share.  The rooster in the background represents protection and security and the bright day and lush field indicates a time of summer and abundance.

Use this month to share your success.  Keep what you need, both out of necessity and as savings for the future.  But if you have more, give generously to others who are struggling.

Tarotscope for Gemini (May 21 to Jun 20)

Animal Totem Tarot The Sun Lemur card

Curious Adaptable Air energy fuels your Primary Drive. Your Life Path energy operates best-doing tasks that stimulate your mind in a variety of ways; you must learn how to focus-on-demand to manifest your best results. Your card this month is The Sun (XIX). Your animal is the lemur and your keywords are: honesty, revelation, and truth.

Symbolism: The lemur basking in the full, bright sun takes in all the life-giving energy, indicating a time to reach full awareness through meditation.  The open field represents the clear and unobstructed view, both physically and spiritually, that this card presents.  As a spirit animal the lemur is present and playful; “what you see is what you get”.

Use this month to be open, honest, and truthful about any issue that has been worrying you.  Allow yourself to listen and hear the world around you, be it the thoughts and concerns of those closest to you or the conversations of strangers in your vicinity.  Absorb as much as you can.

Tarotscope for Cancer (Jun 21 to Jul 22)

Animal Totem Tarot High Priestess Spider card

Nurturing Active Water fuels your Primary Drive. Your Life Path energy operates best when you care-take yourself and others properly; you must learn “emotional balance” to manifest your best results. Your card this month is The High Priestess (II). Your animal is the spider and your keywords are: perseverance, patience, and industriousness.

Symbolism: the spider weaves her web under the full moon.  She knows she must be industrious building her web and then patient waiting for her meal to become trapped.  She keeps balance in the world as a creature that is both feared and sacred.   The full moon represents the intensity and fluidity of perception.  Life is hard and hard work, but she knows how to overcome difficulty and succeed.  Thus, she becomes a model for others to emulate.

Use this month to build what will ensure you “capture” what you need. You must implement a strategy against the unknown, so you can be ready to strike when an opportunity “hits your web”!

Tarotscope for Leo (Jul 23 to Aug 22)

Animal Totem Tarot 3 of Pentacles Giraffe card

Strong-burning Stable Fire fuels your Primary Drive. Your Life Path energy operates best when you are creative; you must learn structure to manifest your best results. Your card this month is the 3 of Pentacles. Your animal is the giraffe and your keywords are: effort, work, and skill.

Symbolism: the three pentacles above the giraffe are not out of reach but will require some extra effort to touch them.  The archway represents a passageway for accomplishment and the African landscape is harsh, but not barren.  With hard work, discipline, and skill there is a way to succeed and even thrive in the challenging climate.  The giraffe is uniquely built to survive and has a hardy constitution.

Use this month to do your work effectively and consistently.  Any endeavors that require effort need your concentration and best effort.  There may be little glory, and rather a lot of necessity, to what you do this month.

Tarotscope for Virgo (Aug 23 to Sep 22)

Animal Totem Tarot Page of Cups Seal card

Practical Adaptable Earth fuels your Primary Drive. Your Life Path energy operates best when you get all the details in order; you must learn to “see the forest for the trees” to manifest your best results. Your card this month is the Page of Cups. Your animal is the seal and your keywords are: hope, passion, and trust.

Symbolism: The single cup has either washed up on the shore or will be taken out to sea, such as the ambiguous nature of the page energy.  The seal swimming in the wave can either wait for the cup to be pulled into the water or come onto the shore and get the cup.  It is a creature of the sea that can also manage on the land.  The wave also illustrates the “in-between” nature of the Page of Cups, pushing back and forth against the shore.

You need to be fluid this month and go with the flow, like the wave coming in and going out.  Trust your emotional rhythms and do attempt to contain or force your emotions.  Be like the seal riding inside the wave’s energy.

Tarotscope for Libra (Sep 23 to Oct 22)

Animal Totem Tarot Justice Crane card

Analytical Active Air fuels your Primary Drive. Your Life Path energy operates best when acting logically; you must learn to mix in feelings to manifest your best results. Your card this month is Justice (XI). Your animal is the crane and your keywords are: analysis, decision, and fairness.

Symbolism: The crane appears to be a delicate bird based on its narrow body, long neck, and boney legs, but it is not.  The harsh snowy landscape represents the unforgiving nature of Justice.  The crane knows how to survive the buffeting winds and cold temperatures.  Also, the position of the crane, looking upward, and standing on high is like the energy of Justice, which looks to the higher power of logic and sees all from a superior position.

Use this month to detach yourself from an emotional situation and try to see what is going on as a spectator or someone who needs to decide using logic and analysis.  These tools will serve you best at this time.

Tarotscope for Scorpio (Oct 23 to Nov 21)

Animal Totem Tarot 3 of Swords Elephant card

Intense Persistent Water energy fuels your Primary Drive. Your Life Path energy operates best when bringing or experiencing transformation; you must learn “playfulness or lightness of heart” to manifest your best results. Your card this month is the 3 of Swords. Your animal is the elephant and your keywords are: sorrow, loss, and regret.

Symbolism: This is a bleak card.  The three swords stand upright between the ribs of an elephant skeleton while another elephant mourns over the bones.  The sky is overcast and threatening rain.  The shrubs and trees appear unhealthy.  The images convey sorrow and loss, and an untimely death.  This is not loss from natural causes but the interference of hunters and human greed. You are both the elephant that has been killed and the elephant that is alive to receive the warning.

With this card, you must address a loss or some discord in your thinking.  Outside forces impede you and you should be on your guard.  You must persevere.

Tarotscope for Sagittarius (Nov 22 to Dec 21)

Animal Totem Tarot 7 of Pentacles Elk card

Expansive Adaptable Fire fuels your Primary Drive. Your Life Path energy operates best exploring openly and trying new experiences; you must learn to map and record your knowledge to manifest your best results. Your card this month is the 7 of Pentacles. Your animal is the elk and your keywords are: investment, options, and reward

Symbolism: A young elk stands below a tree with seven pentacles hanging from the branches.  Two older male elk lock horns behind him.  The seven pentacles represent investment and potential.  One day the young elk in the foreground will be one of the older elks in the background.  He must make wise choices in order to thrive and grow.  The competition and the mountainous region represent the struggle of life that helps us reach our best potential.

With this card, you need to think about your future and how you want it to take shape.  You need to use your resources wisely to ensure growth and success.

Tarotscope for Capricorn (Dec 22 to Jan 19)

Animal Totem Tarot 7 of Cups Dragonfly card

Ambitious Active Earth fuels your Primary Drive. Your Life Path energy operates best when you are setting and achieving goals; you must learn compassion to manifest your best results. Your card this month is the 7 of Cups. Your animal is the dragonfly and your keywords are: motivation, choice, and evaluation.

Symbolism: Seven dragonflies circle above seven cups, each one filled with a collection of items representing different aspects of human life and motivation.  The cup furthest back is empty, indicating a choice free of influence.  The sun is rising and the table is set.  Each filled cup shows how we are motivated to make our choices.  The empty cup is the only one elevated on the table, reminding us that our choices only get “filled up” after we make them.

With this card, you need to determine what motivates your choices and whether or not it is the best motivation for you … in your past, present, and going forward.  Why do you choose the way you do?

Tarotscope for Aquarius (Jan 20 to Feb 18)

Animal Totem Tarot Emperor Gorilla card

Unconventional Stable Air fuels your Primary Drive. Your Life Path energy operates best when you are authentic and unrepentant; you must learn quiet fortitude to manifest your best results. Your card this month is The Emperor (IV). Your animal is the Gorilla and your keywords are: power, leadership, and command.

Symbolism: A mighty gorilla sits on high with a staff in his right hand and a perfectly round rock in his left hand.  There is a collection of bananas and fruit beside him.  The staff represents his authority and the round rock is the world in the palm of his hand.  The fruit beside him is both his wealth and what he can offer to others who come to him for trade.  He has the wealth from his subjects, whom he protects and rules.

With this card, you embrace your power and exert your authority this month.  If you do not have an authority role, then you need to address your relationship with authority figures in your life.  Are they supporting and protecting you or do you need some new role models?

Tarotscope for Pisces (Feb 19 to Mar 20)

Animal Totem Tarot 5 of Cups Capybara card
282

Imaginative Adaptable Water fuels your Primary Drive. Your Life Path energy operates best connecting with others emotionally; you must learn toughness to manifest your best results. Your card this month is the 5 of Cups. Your animal is the capybara and your keywords are: disappointment and loss.

Symbolism: This is a difficult card.  One of the capybaras is dead on the shore while another one swims away.  Three cups have been spilled and two remain upright behind the dead animal.  There is nothing to be done for one that has been killed, so the one swimming away must accept the loss and move on.  However, the two upright cups, unnoticed or “behind” represent the potential for something positive once the loss has been processed and released.

With this card, you have to deal with a severe disappointment or loss and keep moving forward.  There is nothing good to see from the past or the choices that have brought you to this moment, so look ahead, not back.
