Welcome to the Monthly Tarotscope, a combination of Astrology and Tarot/Oracle Cards. Each month I will draw a card for your sign of the Zodiac. That card represents the meditation for the month for that Sun Sign. The Sun Sign represents your Primary Drive in life, how you best manifest your Life Path, and how the light of the Sun energizes you each day. This month I have chosen to use the Oracle of Mystical Moments by Catrin Welz-Stein.
Tarotscope for Aries (Mar 21 to Apr 19)
Maverick Active Fire energy fuels your Primary Drive. Your Life Path energy operates best independently; you must learn self-discipline to manifest your best results. Your card this month is number 38, Lullaby. The keywords for this card are restoration, dreams rhythms, and lullaby.
From the Booklet: As dusk arrives, we notice a cello player about to play a lullaby, to welcome the sleep we need so dearly. The cycles of day and night, light and dark, orchestrate our natural sleep rhythms. We give so much during the day; night is our time to recover. On his instrument, we can see the moon and stars – they are the guardians of our dreams tonight. Rest with nature’s lullaby blowing gently through the window. Tomorrow, wake to all the days of your life. (31)
When this card appears in a reading, it is time to rest and find the flow in life that will keep you from becoming overly anxious or worried. Music is a powerful tool for meditation or relaxation if you select the right melody or choose a soothing piece from a classical composer. Take this month to slow down and listen to the needs of your body and mind, especially if those needs are for rest and restoration.
Tarotscope for Taurus (Apr 20 to May 20)
Persistent Stable Earth energy fuels your Primary Drive. Your Life Path energy operates best when you feel secure; you must learn some degree of adaptability to manifest your best results. Your card this month is number 40, Oh Sunny Day. The keywords for this card are new beginnings, luck, and optimism.
From the booklet: A woman with a dainty umbrella sits on a red mushroom and watches the sunrise over the horizon. How nice it is to welcome a new day, especially with three little talismans of good luck – the ladybug. Embrace new beginnings; let us forget yesterday’s worries and regrets. Don’t allow the past to linger into today; all the moments in this day are brand new, never seen before or since. You have the power to make good things happen, you can make today your lucky day. (32)
When this card appears in a reading, you should work to be present this month. Focus on the days at hand and only look slightly ahead into tomorrow. Do not let yourself by restricted by the past or future; do not project yourself back or forwards … live in the moment as much as possible during this span of time. What or who needs your attention immediately? Do not wait, make excuses, or wallow.
Tarotscope for Gemini (May 21 to Jun 20)
Curious Adaptable Air energy fuels your Primary Drive. Your Life Path energy operates best-doing tasks that stimulate your mind in a variety of ways; you must learn how to focus on demand to manifest your best results. Your card this month is number 21, Tiny Triumphs. The keywords for this card are attitude, belief, and the power of perseverance.
From the booklet: A big mouse dressed as a circus trainer is holding a small eagle. The situation is inverted: The predator is small and the prey is big. This card urges us to believe in ourselves. Don’t ever think you’re too small or too outmatched in a situation. Inner size is what matters. Think back to a time when you felt good about an achievement. Don’t give up now; with patience and hard work, you will triumph. (19-20)
With this card drawn, you must see how to turn a weakness into a strength and recognize that a strength may be a weakness during this time. You may find life inverted, like the figures in the card. Solutions may not be easy and will probably require very different thinking, well “outside the box”, to make things work in your life. Keep an open mind and believe there is a way forward, even it appears very strange.
Tarotscope for Cancer (Jun 21 to Jul 22)
Nurturing Active Water fuels your Primary Drive. Your Life Path energy operates best when you care-take yourself and others properly; you must learn “emotional balance” to manifest your best results. Your card this month is number 23, the Gift. The keywords for this card are whimsy, excitement, curiosity, and gift.
From the booklet: Under a snowy sky, a woman with feathered hair holds a little box. What is inside the box? We don’t know for sure, but it seems to be a gift. Simple on the outside, but perhaps magical within. We can only imagine what would happen if we could tug the string and peer inside. Would it be the fulfillment of an old wish? Remember the curiosity we have before opening presents, the magical space between dreams and truth. A gift reminds us of the excitement we have in these special moments. (21)
When this card appears in a reading, you need to take a positive and optimistic view of life; work to see the good in your situation even if it has been challenging recently or for some time. Many times, we cannot change our circumstances, which leaves us to change our perspective and expectations. When our circumstances and perceptions are far apart, we suffer. You can shift your perspective and bring alignment, which will relieve suffering, giving you a tremendous gift this month.
Tarotscope for Leo (Jul 23 to Aug 22)
Strong-burning Stable Fire fuels your Primary Drive. Your Life Path energy operates best when you are creative; you must learn structure to manifest your best results. Your card this month is number 41, Home in the Sky. The keywords for this card are wanderlust, adventure, and safe haven.
From the booklet: Up in the sky we see a floating neighborhood of houses carried by balloons. Birds peek out through the windows. In this card, there are elements of a journey, symbolized by the sky, birds, and balloons. But there are also houses, which suggest home, security, and stability. These birds have the best of both worlds – they can travel a big distance without losing their home. They are free to seek new experiences without worry. Home is truly where the heart is. (33)
When this card appears in a reading, you need to think about how you stay safe in changing circumstances. It is very likely that a major change is upon you and you need to consider how you will remain safe and stable through the change. While material possessions are important, they should not limit you; consider what is easy to keep and take with you should you have to move or travel during this time. Mobile keepsakes will be important for keeping you connected to what and who matters in your life.
Tarotscope for Virgo (Aug 23 to Sep 22)
Practical Adaptable Earth fuels your Primary Drive. Your Life Path energy operates best when you get all the details in order; you must learn to “see the forest for the trees” to manifest your best results. Your card this month is the number 44, Stranded. The keywords for this card are misdirection, misjudgment, and fear of failure.
From the booklet: Look at this young sailor stranded with his ship on top of a tall tree. He needs his anchor to help him get back down to earth. The card asks: How did the ship get there? This is such an unusual place for a seafaring vessel! At times we feel the same; we find ourselves in situations we can’t quite understand. Sometimes we feel we’ve made mistakes because our expectations are so high, we set ourselves up for failure. We either beat ourselves up over our performance, or we are so intimidated that we never even begin. Failure is a necessary part of success, as important to the journey as a rudder on a ship. (35-36)
When this card appears in a reading, it is time to pick yourself up and dust yourself off! Something has not worked out as you hoped and now you need to regroup, maybe even start over, or … give up. Life is full of setbacks; how we handle them is really the issue, not how do we avoid them all the time, which is impossible. If you are feeling stranded, be sure to reach out for some help!
Tarotscope for Libra (Sep 23 to Oct 22)
Analytical Active Air fuels your Primary Drive. Your Life Path energy operates best when acting logically; you must learn to mix in feelings to manifest your best results. Your card this month is number 47, My Dear Friend. The keywords for this card are lifelong friendship, dependability, and solidarity.
From the booklet: If you recall the card, “The Journey”, you may recognize a similar scene here with a woman riding a deer. But this time both the woman and the deer are much older. Time has passed and the two are still companions. They have seen many seasons together, many sunny joys and cold sorrows. Their wisdom has grown, like the graceful antlers the woman holds for comfort. The deer supports her, and she returns a loving touch to her dear friend. (37-38)
When this card appears in a reading, you need to appreciate the people or a person in your life who has been with you through thick and thin. You should make a special show of your appreciation this month. Do something special together that marks your friendship in some profound way.
Tarotscope for Scorpio (Oct 23 to Nov 21)
Intense Persistent Water energy fuels your Primary Drive. Your Life Path energy operates best when bringing or experiencing transformation; you must learn “playfulness or lightness of heart” to manifest your best results. Your card this month is number 39, My Home is my Castle. The keywords for this card are experience of life, growth, knowledge, and age.
From the booklet: The woman on the card carries a big castle on her shoulders. The castle is solid, it seems like it was growing each year of her life. The castle stands for the woman’s soul. Inside its enduring walls, she keeps all her memories, thoughts, knowledge, and feelings. The older the woman gets, the more this fortress of life grows. It keeps her company, defends her against pain, and provides the foundation for her true self to continue its journey. (32)
When this card appears in a reading, you need to look at your home and make sure it is your sanctuary. What care does your home need from you this month, what improvements, and what repairs? Like the woman in the image, your home should be an extension of who you are, filled with important memories, a sense of safety, and a place for others to share time with you.
Tarotscope for Sagittarius (Nov 22 to Dec 21)
Expansive Adaptable Fire fuels your Primary Drive. Your Life Path energy operates best exploring openly and trying new experiences; you must learn to map and record your knowledge to manifest your best results. Your card this month is number 11, Queen Bee. The keywords for this card are strength, growth, and motherhood.
From the booklet: Madam Queen Bee is big and strong, yet gentle and mothering. Her skirt is a flower tower, a home for bees that sustain our ecosystem. She gives strength, power, and life to her surroundings. She is Mother Nature. She is responsible for the tulips that send energy into the world, and all that grows to know the beauty of each day. Her children are the children of earth. She nurtures all of us. (13)
When this card appears in a reading, consider who needs your care and if you need some care from someone this month. Do you feel you are the Queen Bee or searching for a Queen Bee to help and support you? In truth, we often find ourselves moving back and forth between the needs of others and our own needs. This month will focus on needs, both external and internal.
Tarotscope for Capricorn (Dec 22 to Jan 19)
Ambitious Active Earth fuels your Primary Drive. Your Life Path energy operates best when you are setting and achieving goals; you must learn compassion to manifest your best results. Your card this month is number 43, Secrets. The keywords for this card are magic, mystery, and hidden thoughts.
From the booklet: A girl on a stool is tall enough to reach the moon. She holds a ring of keys in her hand; one of them will fit in the keyhole on the moon’s surface. This card tells us about personal secrets, hidden thoughts, and ideas that one keeps in their mind. Nobody is able to look inside your head unless you invite them to. You have the power to decide how much of your thoughts you want to share with others. A little mystery helps keep the magic alive. (34-35)
When this card appears in a reading, you need to reflect on your deepest thoughts and why you keep them secret, and who you trust to share them with. Also, the card reminds you that you never truly know anyone else; we all just get fragments, some larger or smaller than others. It is important to remember, this month, that we all have secrets we keep to remind us of our own unique place in the world.
Tarotscope for Aquarius (Jan 20 to Feb 18)
Unconventional Stable Air fuels your Primary Drive. Your Life Path energy operates best when you are authentic and unrepentant; you must learn quiet fortitude to manifest your best results. Your card this month is number 6, Listen. The keywords for this card are mindfulness, sensitivity, and empathy.
From the booklet: This young woman with closed eyes and a knowing smile is rooted in the earth. Her hair has transformed into the roots of the plants above her. You can tell the woman is aware of her surroundings. She is connected to the voice of nature. She can listen to the growing plants beneath the ground. She is an integral part of her world. She understands the sorrows and worries of the environment. She also knows the songs of nature’s pleasures. (10)
Receiving this card indicates a time to go out into nature and commune with the natural world. Slow down; take time away from electronics and information. Let yourself decompress this month and enjoy some solitude and quiet. You might even plan a getaway, on your own, just so you can listen to your life and find out what you “hear”.
Tarotscope for Pisces (Feb 19 to Mar 20)
Imaginative Adaptable Water fuels your Primary Drive. Your Life Path energy operates best by connecting with others emotionally; you must learn toughness to manifest your best results. Your card this month is number 34, Abracadabra. The keywords for this card are magic, secrets, patterns, and destiny.
From the booklet: Rising from the kingdom of skyscrapers, a giant woman glows in the cityscape. She is so tall she can touch the stars all around her. With her magic wand, she coaxes the future from the constellations. There is such order in the universe, in the golden ratio of a nautilus shell or patterns in the starry night. We can unlock the secrets of the universe. We are all the magicians of our own lives. (28-29)
When this card appears in a reading, you need to dream big and have a vision for where you would like to go next in your life. If you are already moving in the right direction, then have faith and apply effort. We can make magic with our intentions and convictions; both are necessary to bring a dream into reality.
