There are numerous types of relationships to explore when considering compatibility between two signs. We grow up in a parent/child dynamic. Outside our family, we form friendships with other children and eventually other adults. We look for and find love. And, we go to work and have careers, interacting with employers and co-workers.
Each sign-to-sign interaction guides our behavior in every relationship. Read through this section to find out how each of the above dynamics works astrologically so you can experience the optimal way to communicate and get along with your sign and all the other signs.
The Gemini-and-Virgo interaction is a good example of how the nature of the signs helps overcome the challenges of the aspect, which, in this case, is a square. As the “I communicate” sign of the Zodiac, Gemini is open-minded, curious, and intelligent. Virgo is the “I serve” sign of the Zodiac, and is diligent, methodical, and perfectionist. A long-term relationship (outside parent/child) is not impossible, but highly improbable unless other factors in the chart help.
Gemini Parent/Virgo Child
The Gemini parent and Virgo child can work since both signs are designed to adapt. Virgo is much more thorough, discriminating, and practical than Gemini, so this child may want more structure than they are likely to get from the Gemini parent. However, the Gemini parent can learn the needs of any of his or her children, but simply may not be the best teacher for the particular and thorough Virgo. Still, the issues are likely to be flares of frustration, not major problems regarding control or emotional turbulence.
Virgo Parent/Gemini Child
The Virgo parent and Gemini child operate much better because the power dynamic puts the controlling Virgo in charge and the active and curious Gemini in the learning role. What may frustrate the Virgo parent is the Gemini’s lack of follow-through if distracted by a new interest or endeavor. Put it this way, they may start out a puzzle together, but the Virgo parent will often end up finishing it alone. Still, the Gemini child will show interest in what the Virgo parent wants and needs to teach them.
Gemini Friend/Virgo Friend
Gemini and Virgo friends can get along quite well. They are both adaptive and curious and can work in a type of collaboration where the Gemini throws out ideas and Virgo snatches one or two and starts making them happen. Where the friendship can feel strain happens when the Virgo expects the Gemini to stay as interested as they are in a game or project or the Gemini expects the Virgo to jump from interest to interest at the same speed and with the same enthusiasm as they do.
Gemini Lover/Virgo Lover
This romance, love, sex combination can be pleasant if not profound. Neither of these signs represent the passion and endurance of the fixed or cardinal signs, so romance and sex take on more mundane and practical expressions that can make for a lasting relationship, even if it lacks spectacular interactions. At the least, these partners will be exploratory, mainly with the Gemini leading the way. However, the Virgo can be quite particular in defining the relationship and the sex, which might end up feeling dull to the Gemini.
Gemini Employer/Virgo Employee
The Gemini employer and the Virgo employee can combine to make a business or company run well and efficiently. The Gemini boss is one of the best at finding the right knowledge to help his or her employees succeed. And a Virgo employee is built for service and support, looking for ways to use his or her skills to problem solve and keep processes working efficiently in the work environment.
Virgo Employer/Gemini Employee
If the employer is a Virgo and the employee is Gemini, this combination is just as good as the reverse but does work differently. Virgo wants things done a certain way, and correctly. Speed or aggressiveness are not important; attention to detail and correct procedures are. Gemini wants to be intellectually stimulated and connecting with co-workers and clients. A Virgo boss can provide a Gemini employee with a “container” that gets the most out of their skills, while a Virgo employee is self-disciplined, which can make a free-flowing Gemini boss look good, with minimal effort from the Gemini boss.
Gemini Co-worker/Virgo Co-worker
This combination is probably the best scenario of all the relationship dynamics, especially if there is clear and strong leadership. These energies are both adaptive and service-oriented. The Virgo can work on problems and the Gemini can gather in the information and connect the necessary people to help the Virgo reach the outcome that is needed.
