Numerology of COVID-19

Numerology of COVID-19

Numerology is the study of numbers as meaningful constructs related to human consciousness.  Numbers occupy our lives in many ways, starting with number values associated with the letters of words, especially our names.

We have the numbers for our birthday, month, and year.  Most countries have a number sequence for citizens (in the United States, it is the 9-digit Social Security Number or SSN).  Most of us have a phone number; if we drive a car, we have a number plate.  Each word and sequence of numbers reduce to a number between 1 and 9, and each of those numbers has spiritual meaning.

This article will explore various numbers associated with COVID-19.

Which Numbers to Consider

The two most prominent numbers to consider first are the full name given to the virus, “novel coronavirus” and the shorter, now common reference “COVID-19”.    I will also look at three significant dates: patient zero contraction date (11/19/2019), the date China reported the virus to the World Health Organization (12/31/2019), and the date of the first reported case in the US (01/20/2020).

The Numerology of the Names

Ask Astrology has a comprehensive numerology section.  In it, you will discover that there are three common systems for name numerology: Pythagorean, Gematria, and Chaldean.  The most used system is Pythagorean, which is the system selected for this article.  If you want to learn about the other two systems visit the Discover Numerology page.

Novel Coronavirus

When the outbreak became global news, the first reference to the virus was “novel coronavirus”, which is where we will begin.

N O V E L C O R O N A V I R U S
5 6 4 5 3 3 6 9 6 5 1 4 9 9 3 1 79 16 7

The number for this name of the virus is 7, which is the number for mysticism, spirituality, and “the unseen”.  Any word or name that reduces to a 7 indicates a spiritual intent, a greater mystery we encounter with what is named that drives us to ascertain or try to understand the “why” of what is named.

If we move beyond the functionality of the virus, how it spreads and how it acts on the human body and look at the virus in a global, “humans make meaning” sense of existence, we have to wonder why and why now.  From a global and “life is interconnected perspective”, it is easy to see humanity threatening the planet in ways that are self-destructive to civilization, human health and well-being, and other forms of life on the planet.

If we also consider the planet as having a potential intelligence, the Gaia Principle, then the “virus” is humanity and the virus is a type of white blood cell trying to reduce or eliminate an infection.  It is this direction in thinking the number 7 invites us to pursue.  And if we do, then what conclusions and changes in behavior must we actively and reactively take towards the virus to avoid elimination?

COVID-19

Now, most new stories reference the virus with the name COVID-19.  Here is the numerology:

C O V I D 1 9
3 6 4 9 4 1 9 36 9

The number for this name of the virus is 9, which is the number for humanity, compassion, and wisdom.  Any word or name that reduces to a 9 indicates the need for a wider view of whatever the name is associated with.  9 is the number both furthest away from 1, the individual, but also the last number before we return to 1.

COVID19 unites the world, even if divisions appear on the surface.  A disease may be politicized by humans, but it acts without agenda, on a simple mission to spread itself where a suitable host presents.  Rich or poor, attractive or unattractive, famous or not, the virus attaches based on biology, not ideology.  There is a confirmed case in every part of the world, which is a reasonable expectation for a virus with a 9 name.

Dates

11/17/2019

After considerable research and effort, China’s researchers identified November 17, 2019, as day zero for the virus transmission.  Let’s look at the numerology for that day:

1 1 1 7 2 0 1 9 22 4

This date adds up to a master number, 22, and reduces to 4.  The 22/4 represents mastery for teaching and the opportunity to learn lessons.  The 2 alone represents partnership and the 4 represents hard work and “establishing”.  Put together they represent what a community can build when working together.  In the case of this number related to the virus and the virus representing a type of “test” or attack on the system, we can interpret the numerology of this date as a pressure test on human civilization, as well as a tremendous opportunity to learn.

12/31/2019

The next significant date to consider is the day China called WHO and let them know that the virus was an epidemic in China with the potential to go global.  The numerology for that day is:

1 2 3 1 2 0 1 9 19 1

While 1 is the number for the individual, it is also the number for “beginning”.  1 is the start; 1 is first.  China, the country, contains patient zero and is patient zero.  But the 1 also represents the impact the virus will have on individuals.  The first date is a 9, which is the community, followed by 1, which is the individual.  It is also worth noting that the sequence of the cycle of numbers goes from 1 to 9, then back to 1.  The first lesson is communal, and the second lesson is individual.

1/20/2020

The last date I want to look at is the date of the first reported case in the United States, in Washington state.

0 1 2 0 2 0 2 0 = 7

The number 7 occurs again, reinforcing the idea that the pandemic is as much a spiritual crisis as it is a health crisis.  In fact, it is causing crisis across the board, in work, in families, in individual psychology.  We have a crisis in leadership, preparedness, and viable short and long-term solutions.  But this number is not only global, in the original name, but specific to the United States.

How will this virus reshape the United States for generations to come?  We are dealing with something “unseen” that we are “at the mercy of”, two concepts very much in line with the number 7.  Also, in this number is “hope” and “faith”, which face their true tests in moments of spiritual awakening, which can come through dedicated spiritual study and practice, or all-at-once with a personal or external crisis.

Other Numbers

Numerology applies to any significant name or number.  And, we can creatively make combinations to see what meanings we might discern from the numerological research. For example, how would the name and birth date numbers of world leaders match with the virus numbers?  What about the names and dates of other countries? For now, those are ideas for other articles.  Based on the two names and the three dates, COVID19 has the numbers: 7 (twice), 9, 22/4, and 1.

A compressed summary would be a profound spiritual event affecting all communities and each individual, breaking down and rebuilding the structures of daily life around the world.
