Another excellent way to access psychic awareness is to ground yourself, which can most easily be done by taking your socks and shoes off and standing barefoot on the earth. Direct contact with the ground, with the intention to ground, will allow you to slow down your mental state enough to open your psychic awareness.
Practice Makes Perfect
Centering and grounding can open your psychic awareness, but re-entry into the distracting world can close the awareness off rather quickly, and usually for your benefit. It is important to realize that you are probably shielding yourself naturally because psychic awareness in our electronic age can prove painful, in the same way, sensitive skin can feel painful when you do not feel well.
You want to do centering and grounding in places and at times when you can enter and exit the process without being jarred in and out of the experience. As you improve your ability to center and ground under safe and controlled conditions, you can begin to develop faster and simpler techniques in ever-increasingly “noisy” places until you feel like you have the awareness permanently turned on, but at a very low level.
Operating in Life with your 6th Sense Turned On
You want to get to the level of development where you have your psychic awareness running at all times so you can turn it up and down without having to turn it on and off, which takes a good deal more energy. Having your psychic awareness turned on, even at a low level, extends your energy field so you can sense the energy around you further out from your center.
Being able to sense a wider arc from your center can help you be aware of how to move through crowded spaces more easily or feel psychic pressure before it gets into your field and causes a disturbance. You can more easily avoid people and places that have negative energy and attract or go towards people and places that have positive energy.
You will also find it easier to put up and hold psychic and emotional boundaries and feel when people are trying to get into your psychic space when you do not want them too.
