There are numerous types of relationships to explore when considering compatibility between two signs. We grow up in a parent/child dynamic. Outside our family, we form friendships with other children and eventually other adults. We look for and find love. And, we go to work and have careers, interacting with employers and co-workers.
Each sign-to-sign interaction guides our behavior in every relationship. Read through this section to find out how each of the above dynamics works astrologically so you can experience the optimal way to communicate and get along with your sign and all the other signs.
The Scorpio-and-Aquarius relationship is manageable, as are all relationships with a Scorpio, but it is not an easy one. Scorpio is the “I transform” sign of the Zodiac, and is intense, powerful, and a change agent. Aquarius is the “I revolutionize” sign of the Zodiac and is social, idealistic, and individualistic. A long-term relationship (outside parent/child) is not likely, but if it happens, it can endure. Both are fixed signs, after all. So, they can stay connected, “for better or worse, until death does they part”.
Scorpio Parent/Aquarius Child
The Scorpio parent and Aquarius child can work together, but it will not be easy at first. Aquarius, as a type, is usually quirky or unique in some way, focused on what is new and innovative. Scorpio, as a type, can be very demanding and controlling in the parental role. The Aquarius child often appears to be from a “different world” regardless of who is the parent (except maybe another Aquarius), but the difference can be something the Scorpio parent can learn to embrace once they realize their child is just as headstrong as the parent.
Aquarius Parent/Scorpio Child
The Aquarius parent and Scorpio child can be equally challenging, with each one “digging in his or her heels” when they conflict. There will be rules with the Aquarius parent, like with any fixed sign, but they will probably be clear enough that the Scorpio child will easily understand them, even if they do not appreciate them.
Scorpio is the fixed water sign, that transforms under pressure, and may not always find their Aquarius parent doing enough to challenge them. But, once they get the Aquarius parent to react, they will find more than their match when it comes to parenting power.
Scorpio Friend/Aquarius Friend
Scorpio and Aquarius friends can enjoy a “we are too weird for everyone else” kind of relationship. The Aquarius likes being part of the group but does not need or want to lead, just participates. Scorpio is not as social but can appreciate the ability of Aquarius to be part of a group in one moment and detached from the group in another moment. They could be “secret” friends that none of their other friends know about.
Scorpio Lover/Aquarius Lover
This romance, love, and sex combination can be surprisingly kinky if they become lovers. All fixed signs can have lasting relationships, even though Aquarius will be the most unusual of the bunch. Scorpio will bring the intensity and Aquarius will bring the imagination, making this a very interesting dynamic.
Aquarius can be as “deviant” as Scorpio, but with a different motivation, less so because of emotional intensity, and more so because of “scientific” curiosity. It is the scientific experiment of romance and sex that the Scorpio can hop on and enjoy from a “let’s test that out” place of experimentation.
Scorpio Employer/Aquarius Employee
The Scorpio employer and the Aquarius employee match is one of the better combinations for certain aspects of work; these are two signs comfortable with change, especially innovation. Scorpio wants to see the company do powerful work in the world. Aquarius loves to innovate and find unique ways to solve problems or do his or her work.
The Aquarius can enjoy working for a Scorpio boss if the Scorpio employer knows to give the Aquarius work where breakthroughs are necessary and needed.
Aquarius Employer/Scorpio Employee
If the employer is an Aquarius and the employee is Scorpio, this combination works just as well. Aquarius likes to see a team thrive through the efforts of its individuals. Scorpio will enjoy being the change agent within the organization to help keep the business running at peak efficiency. Aquarius leaders understand the need for each sign to do what it does best and behave how it prefers to behave.
They should be able to see how the Scorpio employee can transform his or her area of work, as well as the co-workers around them.
Scorpio Co-worker/Aquarius Co-worker
This combination may be problematic when there is not a clear power dynamic between the employer and employee. A wise manager will not have them work in tandem, but “back-to-back”, with the Aquarius leading and the Scorpio following. Aquarius can introduce a brilliant innovation and Scorpio make the needed changes happen, then the Aquarius can go onto a new task, which may or may not require the Scorpio to come in and implement change.
