From the back of the box:

Your dreams offer a gateway between your conscious waking life and your subconscious dreaming state. The 48 cards in this deck encourage you to explore the profound messages they can offer, gently guiding you to a more fulfilled and meaningful life. The accompanying booklet provides proven dreamwork rituals for each card alongside more tools that can be used to train your brain to recall your dreams and their precious wisdom more easily.

The cards are powered by the potent energy of the moon and its key phases, to help you unlock your nocturnal intuition. By performing the dreamwork rituals in the moon phase featured on each card you can significantly enhance their power.

Let your dreams be your guide.

About the Artist:

My artwork is a celebration of the beauty and mystery of the night sky. I have always been fascinated by the moon and the stars, and seek to capture their enchanting quality in my illustrations. Through the use of vivid colors, intricate patterns, and a touch of magic, I hope to convey the sense of wonder and awe that the night sky evokes.

Ultimately, my goal as an artist is to create pieces that evoke a sense of magic and wonder in the viewer. I hope that my illustrations inspire others to look up at the night sky with a renewed sense of awe and appreciation for its beauty.

Card Stock and Shuffling of the Dream Ritual Oracle by Theresa Cheung and Noelle T.

Printed on medium card stock, these cards have a matte finish with rounded corners. They are easy to riffle shuffle, even if you have small hands. The cards flex well because the card stock is of medium thickness. Pleasantly, they do not stick together when they first come out of the box. Because the card stock is medium thickness, they will last for many years, even with extended use.

Artwork and the Visual Accessibility

The artwork for this deck is quite beautiful and imaginative. However, the deck’s visual accessibility is not as good as it could be. The artwork connection with the keywords on the cards is not obvious or clear. Any card could have any keyword, so the booklet is crucial for proper interpretation.

Awaken

Meaning:

Lucid dreaming is being aware that you are dreaming while you are actually dreaming. It is the holy grail of dreaming because once you know you are dreaming you can potentially influence your dream. You can be or do anything. You can tap into your intuition and creativity and use whatever treasure you discover there to inspire your waking life. Lucid dreaming is the nocturnal counterpart of waking mindfulness. Being mindful simply means being fully aware in the present moment. (page 25)

Barrier

Meaning:

Your dreams offer you a mirror – reflect your waking state of mind – so if you feel anxious about your dream symbols, this is a clear and present sign you need to make changes in your waking life. For example, one of the most common anxiety dreams is being chased, hunted or attacked. If you have this dream it suggests that you are avoiding something overwhelming or threatening in your waking life. It can be an external force but is far more likely to be an aspect of yourself. Identifying who or what is attacking you can help you get a sense of the meaning. (page 81)

Closure

Meaning:

Recurring dreams are dreams that happen more than once, often several times. They come back time and time again. There are a number of common dream themes that tend to reoccur the most and almost all of them, apart from flying dreams, can be unsettling. These common dreams include: teeth falling out, falling, being chased or attacked, and so on. Given dreams reflect important themes in your waking life, recurring dreams typically suggest areas of frustration, unmet needs or past trauma that you are not facing and processing in your waking life. Your dreaming mind is trying to help you move forward from these psychological blocks. (page 105)

Explanation of the Cards

The Dream Ritual Oracle by Theresa Cheung and Noelle T. comes with a very nice, and comprehensive, guidebook. It has five sections: Introduction, The Cards, About the Author, About the Illustrator, and Acknowledgments. The Introduction has six sub-categories: Dream Time, The Power of Ritual, Dreaming Down the Moon, Why 48 Cards?, How to Use Your Dream Ritual Cards, and Let your Dream Games Begin. The Cards section has four sub-categories: Moon Phase: New, Moon Phase: Waxing, Moon Phase: Full, and Moon Phase: Waning.

Along with the artwork, the booklet is one of the best qualities of this deck. The information about dreaming is outstanding. Each card gets two pages of content, including a color photo in the top left corner of the first page. The write-up includes: Qualities (keywords), Lunar Power (about the phase), Ritual (at least 4 suggested practices), Nocturnal Insight (meaning of the card), and a Mantra.

The Mantra for the Awaken card is “When I dream, I can remember that I am dreaming.” The Mantra for the Barrier card is “My dreams are my life coach.”

Usefulness of the Dream Ritual Oracle by Theresa Cheung and Noelle T.

This oracle deck proves invaluable with its comprehensive guidebook, and insightful keywords on each card. The imagery, deeply rooted in dream themes, provides wonderful visuals to different aspects of the dream state. If you want to take a deep dive into your dreams, then this deck is one you should own.

Rating

I give the Dream Ritual Oracle by Theresa Cheung and Noelle T. 4.5 out of 5 stars. The meanings in the book are thorough and well-written, and extremely insightful when learning how to interpret the cards. The artwork is fantastic for the theme of the deck, and by far an excellent feature. The card stock is medium, so the deck will last if heavily used. The interchangeable aspect of the keywords to artwork is the only limiting factor preventing a 5-star rating.
