Newly published tarot and oracle decks arrive on Amazon, Etsy, crowd-funding platforms, and in bookstores every month. Today there are literally thousands of decks to choose from, including out-of-print decks as well as published ones. Reviewing a deck is a subjective judgement intended to help readers determine if they want to own the deck.
The critical review of a deck for AskAstrology involves looking at the quality and size of the cards, visual accessibility of the art, quality of the companion book or booklet, and potential usefulness in professional practice. This month I have chosen to review the Sacred Geometry Activations Oracle by Lon.
From the back of the box:
Plato referred to sacred geometry as the language of the soul. For thousands of years, sacred geometry has been a part of every culture. It is the bond that connects us all to the cosmos; it is the true design of our soul. Sacred geometry is the blueprint of creation at the core of all form even at the core of you.
Quantum artist LON has created 44 Activations that encourage your analytical mind to step aside so you can enter the domain of the subconscious and the soul, and connect to the quantum field the space of infinite potential. Working with these cards on a daily basis will help you to think outside the box, create a deeper sense of peace in your life, and become a powerful conscious creator.
About the author:
LON was born and raised in Holland, where she attended art school and worked in the advertising and graphic-arts industry. She now lives in San Diego, CA, and creates sacred geometry art images that are visual meditation tools, or Activations, that help people to navigate these changing times. She offers lectures and workshops and intuitive counseling to support a new way of thinking and activate people toward becoming fully multidimensional human beings. (Amazon authors page)
Card Stock and Shuffling
Printed on medium card stock, these cards have a glossy finish with rounded corners and are 3 and ¾ inches by 5 and ½ inches, which actually makes them hard to shuffle for someone with smaller hands. The cards flex smoothly, but stick together when they first come out of the box. So, it will take some use to get the cards to slide apart easily.
Artwork and the Visual Accessibility of the Deck
The artwork is stunning, highly detailed, and rich in colors. However, it is not what I would consider visually accessible. You cannot just look at the cards and discern the meaning, like you can with a deck like the Answer is Simple Oracle (https://askastrology.com/tarot-deck-review-the-answer-is-simple/) or the Enchanted Map Oracle (https://askastrology.com/tarot-deck-review-the-enchanted-map-oracle-cards/).
Solar Plexus Chakra
The Solar Plexus Chakra card signifies a call to focus on your inner strength and personal power. It reminds you to balance your self-esteem and confidence, encouraging you to stand tall and assertively pursue your goals. This card suggests that tapping into your inner fire and embracing your unique qualities will empower you to take charge of your life and make decisions that align with your true self. Trust in your abilities and embrace your authentic power.
The Allowance card suggests the action of letting go of resistance and opening yourself to what life brings. It encourages you to release control and trust the flow of events. Embrace change without trying to force outcomes. By allowing things to unfold naturally, you create space for growth, serendipity, and new possibilities. This card invites you to adopt a more flexible mindset and surrender to the wisdom of the universe’s timing.
The Healing card brings a message of rejuvenation and transformation. It prompts you to address any emotional or physical wounds you’ve been carrying and offers the opportunity for profound healing. This card encourages you to release old patterns and embrace self-care practices that promote well-being. It reminds you that healing is a journey of self-love and forgiveness, inviting you to let go of what no longer serves you and embrace a renewed sense of vitality and wholeness.
Explanation of the Cards
This deck comes with a companion book that offers excellent, clear explanations for each card, including a “Try This” section. For the Healing card, Lon writes, “Contemplate your state of health for a moment. Are you as healthy as you want to be? What are you doing to contribute to greater health? Do you realize that your health does not just refer to the state of your physical body? Do you invest in your emotional and spiritual health as well? How do you do this? Take time to lovingly attend to yourself.” (77)
The book’s introductory section provides valuable advice on utilizing the cards effectively, including a number of different card spreads. It’s a valuable resource for both beginners and experienced readers.
An oracle deck centered around sacred geometry, featuring intricate and stunning imagery, holds a unique and valuable place in the world of divination. The mesmerizing patterns and designs tap into the visual language of the universe, allowing you to access profound insights and wisdom. While the key phrases on the cards may present a challenge when reading for others in a public setting, they offer a deeper layer of interpretation for those who are willing to dive into the intricacies. This deck becomes a private treasure trove of hidden meanings, encouraging a more intimate and personal connection between the reader and the cards.
In private settings, the oracle deck shines brightly. Its complexity invites you to engage in a contemplative journey, connecting with each symbol on a profound level. As you explore the cards in solitude, you unlock a wealth of guidance, inspiration, and self-discovery. Collecting such a deck becomes a cherished addition to your collection, offering a distinct approach to divination that complements other tools you may have. The oracle deck’s intricate beauty serves as a reminder that wisdom often lies in the intricacies, encouraging you to embrace the challenge and find deeper layers of meaning beneath the surface.
I give this deck 4 out of 5 stars. The meanings in the booklet are well-written, and extremely insightful. The artwork is stunning, but the card size is frustrating to work with when trying to shuffle.
