Sagittarius in Love – 12 Different Love Affairs

Each sign of the Zodiac expresses certain energies in certain ways.  There are four elements: air, earth, fire, and water.  Air represents thought; earth represents practical life; fire represents action, and water represents emotions.  There are three modalities: cardinal, fixed, and mutable.  Cardinal signs lead, fixed signs establish, and mutable signs adapt.

Each sign influences the energy of how we love, work, play, raise a family, make friends, and so on.  This article will explore the sign Sagittarius and how it loves and is loved by all 12 Zodiac signs.

Sagittarius: The Mutable Fire Sign

Sagittarius’ most common perception, as a sign, tends to be about adventurousness, authority, and worldliness.  Often known as “the explorer” or “the missionary”, Sagittarius connects the world through knowledge and beliefs, travelers who bring one culture to another and another culture back to their country of origin.  This sign rules learned knowledge, religious institutions, authority, and travel.

As the ruler of the 9th House, its energy oversees big ideas, religious beliefs, and life philosophies.  Someone with a Sagittarius Sun, Moon, or Ascendant (but especially the Sun) will seek to share beliefs and worldly travels with the one(s) they love.

Sagittarius and Love

The Sagittarius parent, child, or lover shows and feels love when they can explore the intellectual and physical world with those they care about.  There is a deep need to understand love’s role in shaping our beliefs and institutions, especially at the belief level of any two people, whether a lover, friend, family member or co-worker.

This sign, like all the fire signs, is active and creative … turned on by action.  They are one of the best and most adept masters of any form of knowledge.  The more complex and intense the pursuit of experiences, the more turned on they become.  They like to try new experiences with a variety of partners, or a very experimental single partner, between the sheets, so do not be surprised if they want you to try some of the more exotic sexual experiences available to the human body.

Sagittarius, Love, and the 12 Signs

Aries

Aries is a cardinal fire sign that likes to “go for it” in love.  This sign trines (collaborates) with Sagittarius, which creates a very nice energetic flow between these two signs.  Sparks easily fly between these two lovers.  Something long-term will require both partners to keep the fire burning, which is possible, so long as they keep exploring and looking for new ways to excite and enjoy one another.

Taurus

Taurus is the fixed earth sign that likes to “settle down” in love.  This sign inconjuncts Sagittarius, which means they will have to constantly work to make the relationship succeed.  Taurus is the ultimate homebody and Sagittarius is most at home out in the world.  If Sagittarius can come home regularly and Taurus can go on a trip occasionally, this combination can last, mostly through Taurus persistence.

Gemini

Gemini is the mutable air sign that likes to “learn and communicate” in love.  This sign opposes or seeks balance with, Sagittarius.  This can be a great combination because Gemini loves to learn, and what better way to learn than to explore.  And Sagittarius loves to teach, so what better relationship than with someone constantly willing to learn.

Cancer

Cancer is the cardinal water sign that likes to “nurture” in love.  This sign inconjuncts Sagittarius, which means they will have to constantly work to make the relationship succeed.  Cancer is a “home is where the heart is” partner, so more flexible than Taurus regarding travel, but still in need of a home base.  As the cardinal sign, Cancer will want to lead the relationship and use Sagittarius exploration energy to build memories for the partnership, and eventual family.

Leo

Leo is the fixed fire sign that likes to “romance” in love.  This sign trines (collaborates) with Sagittarius, which creates a very nice energetic flow between these two signs.  Sparks easily fly between these two lovers.  Leo will love to build status and see the best of any place he or she visits; Sagittarius will appreciate powerful examples of leadership and achievement in the knowledge and places it likes to explore with his or her Leo lover.

Virgo

Virgo is the mutable earth sign that likes to “serve” in love.  This sign squares (conflicts with) Sagittarius.  The challenge is essentially between seeing the “forest more so than the individual trees” and “seeing the individual trees, but not the forest”.  One lover (Sagittarius) needs to come up with the vacation and travel ideas, and the other lover needs to be able to organize and plan (Virgo) when and how they will go on the adventure, of life, together.

Libra

Libra is the cardinal air sign that likes to “harmonize” in love.  This sign sextiles (compliments) Sagittarius.  Both signs like to be decision-makers, and Libra prefers decisions to be mutual whenever possible.  Sagittarius can be too “gung-ho” sometimes and Libra can bring a rational perspective, and still keep the adventure fun.  Libra can experience “paralysis through analysis”, which Sagittarius can easily overcome.  There is good potential for something lasting.

Scorpio

Scorpio is the fixed water sign that prefers intensity in relationships.  These signs sit side-by-side, so they do not easily “see one another”.  Therefore, there is potential to learn from one another, or “pass each other by” without much fanfare.  If these lovers do connect, curiosity will enhance and help the love affair, but they will need to be diligent with their efforts to stay engaged.  Scorpio will want emotional intensity from Sagittarius and Sagittarius will want an adventuring spirit from Scorpio.

Sagittarius

Sagittarius to Sagittarius will work great or fail spectacularly.  Each “owner” of the Sagittarius sign will need to align in terms of beliefs and the willingness to explore; otherwise, they will be at each other’s throats.  If they hold the same political and religious views and prefer to travel the world in the same way, the relationship can be grand.  But if they disagree, it can get pretty nasty since Sagittarius has an authoritarian streak to go with its love of authority.

Capricorn

Capricorn is the cardinal earth sign and prefers to “achieve” with lovers. Capricorn will want measurable success with Sagittarius and Sagittarius will want recognition for its valuable insights and experience from Capricorn.

Aquarius

Aquarius is the fixed air sign that likes to “revolutionize” in love. This sign sextiles (compliments) Sagittarius.  Both signs like to be out in the world and thinking about “big” issues, and Aquarius prefers to connect with the community whenever possible.  Sagittarius can be too “authoritarian” sometimes and Aquarius can bring a wider perspective.  Aquarius can be too self-sacrificing, which Sagittarius can easily offset with its self-interest to learn at a deep level.  There is good potential for something lasting based on doing good for the world together.

Pisces

Pisces is the mutable water sign that likes to “imagine” in love. This sign squares (conflicts with) Sagittarius.  The challenge is essentially between having “faith” and developing a “belief system”, between common knowledge and expert knowledge.  One lover (Sagittarius) needs to master the relationship, and the other lover needs to let the relationship flow naturally. So long as they can open up, then contain, then open up the relationship in an ongoing back and forth; these lovers can enjoy plenty of growth together.
