The Magic of Muscle Testing as a Health Tool

Muscle testing, known as applied kinesiology, assesses the energy vibration of foods and drinks to determine their physiological impact. By gauging the body’s response to different substances, this method identifies what is beneficial or potentially harmful for our health. Every food and drink carries a unique energy frequency, which can either support or disrupt the body’s natural balance. Muscle testing offers a simple, intuitive way to tap into our body’s wisdom. Consequently, it allows us to make conscious dietary choices that align with our individual health needs and promote overall well-being.

Techniques for Muscle Testing

There are three common techniques for muscle testing. Two of them require another person to help you and one of them works individually.

Straight Arm Technique (2 People)

For this muscle testing technique, you need a partner. Stand with your dominant arm extended straight out to the side, parallel to the ground. Your partner will apply gentle pressure to push your arm down while you resist. First, establish a baseline by saying “yes” and feeling the strength in your arm, then say “no” to feel weakeness. Next, hold the food or drink you want to test in your other hand. Then have the person press down on your arm. If your arm stays strong, the item has a positive effect. If your arm weakens, then the item weakens your body.

Finger/Thumb Locked Technique (2 People)

This muscle testing technique involves forming a loop by connecting the thumb and index finger of one hand. Your partner will try to pull apart the loop by looping their finger and thumb inside yours and pulling outward. Start by establishing a baseline with neutral statements like “yes” or “no” to observe the strength of the lock. When testing a specific food or drink, hold it in your free hand. If the loop weakens and separates easily, it indicates a lower energy or negative response. If the loop holds strong, it suggests the food or drink is beneficial.

Standing Balance Technique (1 Person)

The balance test is a simple muscle testing technique you can perform alone. Here are the steps:

Getting Started

  1. Stand relaxed, with feet shoulder width apart, and flat footed (without shoes, if possible)
  2. Eyes open or closed makes no difference.
  3. Breathe normally through the process, but if you have some trouble getting started, a deeper breath can help you relax.
  4. You will need to make statements out loud; there is an auditory component to the process. You do not need speak in a loud voice, just loud enough to hear yourself.

Calibration

First we want to calibrate your responses to give consistent “yes/true” and “no/false” responses. You do this by:

  1. standing relaxed
  2. take a breath in and let it out
  3. make a true statement out loud (my eye color is … or I am X years old)
  4. allow your body to take you out of balance (you may lean forward or backward, to the left or the right)
  5. once you get a reaction, make at least 2 more true statements to be sure the reaction is consistent
  6. now that you have yes/true, make a statement that is a lie (lie about the number of children you … or your hair color)
  7. you should get a different reaction for no/false; tell more lies until you get a consistent response

Once you have your yes/no movements determined, you are ready to test foods, drinks, and supplements.

Two Step Testing Process

There are two steps to the testing process. First you want to determine if something enhances your energy field or detracts from it. Second, for something that enhances your energy field, you want to determine the right amount to ingest. For much of what we consume we over or under dose. Muscle testing is a way to get more precise with what you consume that your body needs.

With the processes that involve a second person, hold the food, drink, or supplement in your free hand. Then, have the person test to see if you can hold your arm out strong. Or test if you can keep them from breaking the circuit of your finger and thumb. If your arm stays strong or your circuit remains intact, then you have something good for you energy field.

If you are using the standing test, hold the item in one of your hands and say “this [food/drink/supplement] is good for me.” Make it a statement, not a question. If you move in the direction of your “yes” calibration, then you know it is good for your body.

Let’s consider an actual example, using an orange. You do the first test and get a “yes” answer. Once you do, you want to get more precise. Your next statement might be, “Eating this entire orange is good for me?” If you get a “yes”, enjoy the orange! If you get a “no”, then go deeper by stating, “I need to eat a portion of this orange”. If you get a “yes”, then start with a small amount, say a quarter of the orange. And if you get a “no”, then go to a larger amount until to you get a “yes” hit.

You might get a “no” answer to eating the entire orange. And that answer may appear to contradict your first answer that the orange is good for you. However, it might be that you need to eat the whole orange and them some more. Test by stating, “I need to eat this whole orange and some more of another orange.”

The Scientific Method of Muscle Testing

Muscle testing can be viewed as a practical application of the scientific method. You can use it to evaluate the energy compatibility of foods, drinks, and supplements with your personal energy field. Through this technique, you make an observation about how a specific item might affect your body. Then, by testing your muscle response, you form a hypothesis about its impact (e.g., whether it strengthens or weakens you). The physical testing acts as an experiment, with your body’s reaction providing the data. Interpreting the muscle’s response helps you draw a conclusion about whether the item supports or hinders your well-being. Now you have a tool to help you be more precise about what helps or hinders your energy.
