History of Astrology – Where Does Your Star Come From?
May 9, 2019
Years went by a long time as people continued to believe that astronomy and astronomy were the same and perhaps this was due to them being highly impacted by nature’s calamities. Some even considered them like the wrath of gods as everything above the skies was superstitious for them. The History of Astrology puts forward that by reading the stars and the skies, people of the olden days were able to foretell and plan their lives.
Even though the history of astrology teaches a great many things — searching for answers, reasons in the motions of the celestial bodies to make predictions, humans have been looking up at the stars for a long time to devise the patterns to follow down here.
Zodiac signs Origin
From the beginning, the zodiac has been universally used to foretell or reflect attributes of personality, regardless of the civilizations, which were the sources of the earliest zodiac knowledge. Maps of the stars long before other maps of the land were devised and therefore, marking were found by the scientists in the ashes and remains of the long-forgotten people and studied to learn exactly where horoscopes come from. Here is a course timeline of this ancient practice, which has existed for nearly as long as humanity.

6,000 B.C. – The movements of the planets and stars were noted in Mesopotamia.
2,400-331 B.C. – The movement was carried forward when the Babylonians invested a thousand years in making the first astrological system.
331 B.C.-5th Century A.D. – Babylon was conquered by Alexander the Great, and the Greeks were already advancing in astrology, medicine, mathematics, and philosophy. They had their days of glory! At present, the modern names for planets and 12 zodiac signs come from Greek literature.
The 12 Zodiac Signs
The 12 signs that we are familiar with today were set during the old Greek period. They are:
Given the history of Astrology, these tropical zodiac signs were titled after constellations, and they were aligned with the dates based on the positions of the celestial bodies in the sky.
Collective work of the Greeks
The collective work of the Greeks regarding Astrology laid the foundations that nature is not entirely spontaneous in nature. As a matter of fact, it does show precision and a pattern which can only be experienced by an individual and utilized in predictions.
Somewhere near the Middle Ages – astrology was flourishing and grew its roots in various cultures. Accounts on the history of astrology state that, it was practiced by doctors, astronomers, and mathematicians, allowing them to make advances in numerology to help astrologers develop more accurate and sophisticated charts than ever.
Modern Developments in the Origins of Astrology
Modern astrology, like humanity, has evolved over the years. Over the centuries, we have not only developed but also expanded our consciousness. Branches of mathematical, scientific and technological advances have given us more control over what occurs in our lives inside the physical universe.
As a result, astrology was no longer entirely derived from fear as it was for the people in the past. In the present day, the most effective use of astrology is to plan, gain awareness regarding our lives and understand our relationships.
Astrology as a cycle
Some may have started considering Astrology as a cycle where the movements of the celestial bodies were observed and studied to acquire an understanding of our lives and the patterns in it. It can be a powerful healing tool for those who intend to transform as individuals with better spiritual connections. It may not be fortune telling, but it can be used as an effective predictive tool. It provides us with insight and unlocks our highest potentials to understand and equip ourselves properly with the harmony of the universe and how everything around us is interconnected. It depicts how things rely on one another. Astrology is oftentimes mistaken as astronomy even though the differences are quite evident between the two. One is a science whereas another only has a connection with it.
However, the people grow, allowing our insights and perspectives to change as quickly as the pace of time. Zodiacs grew and developed in a time when the people referred to the sky for instructions and mapped their ways across the world through following the directions of the stars. Now we understand the modern fact that the earth tilts on its axis. The predictions of horoscopes are changing regardless of the zodiac signs origins.
This means that in practice, the signs of the zodiac and the constellations are altering their alignments, which could present itself as another advancement of evolution. It may even create a turning point in the history of astrology.
Conclusion
Since the Earth continuously moves on its axis and keeps revolving around the Sun, it provides itself as a reason to why it seems as though the stars are moving across the sky at night. But, previously, humans were unaware and spent a considerable amount of time wondering what was happening up there in the sky. Even with astrology being an excellent tool to explain this phenomenon, it also demonstrates the motions of the solar bodies in space. It may even explain why our universe is in a constant state of motion. Moreover, studying the origins of astrology does not only elaborate on the history of the zodiac, but also the cultures that developed it. Much of the stars we know today have been pulled along and out of the past from the actual history of astrology.
