Superheroes have become part of the mainstream popular culture in an unprecedented way ever since the release of the Iron Man movie in 2008. Since then, Superhero movies have dominated the box office to the tune of billions of dollars for the top two publishing companies, Marvel Comics Group and DC Comics. But what about the actual astrology sign of some of these characters? This article will look at the publication date for Marvel Villains as the true birth date of the character, and thus his or her actual Zodiac sign.
The Marvel Revolution
Almost all of Marvel’s most popular comic book characters originated in the 1960s. The Fantastic Four, published in 1961, introduced the first modern Marvel villain, the Mole Man. After his debut came Doctor Doom (1962), the Puppet Master (1962), Loki (1963), the Vulture (1963), and Doctor Octopus (1963). The Mole Man – Leo
The Mole Man (Harvey Rupert Elder) first appeared in Fantastic Four #1, which Marvel published on August 8, 1961. Notably, the issue carried a November 1961 cover date. He reappears throughout their history, trying to rule the surface of the Earth with the aid of his “Moloids”, subterranean, mole-human hybrids that he leads.

Doctor Doom – Aries
Doctor Doom, also known as Victor Von Doom, first appeared in “Fantastic Four” #5. Marvel published this issue on April 10, 1962, with a July 1962 cover date. Additionally, he serves as the monarch of Latveria and has been portrayed as both a supervillain and an antihero. He is the primary foe, and sometimes ally, of the Fantastic Four. Throughout Marvel Comics long history, he has battled Spider-Man, Iron Man, Doctor Strange, Black Panther, Daredevil, the X-Men, and the Avengers.
Loki, Thor’s villainous brother, first appeared in Journey into Mystery #85, which Marvel published on August 2, 1962. Notably, the issue had an October 1962 cover date. He is the Asgardian “God of Mischief” and the adopted son of Odin. Loki has been written and portrayed as both a supervillain and antihero, battling Thor and the Avengers regularly.
Puppet Master – Leo
Puppet Master, Phillip Masters, made his first appearance in Fantastic Four #8, which was published on August 9, 1962, with a cover date of Nov 1962. The Puppet Master uses radioactive clay to make puppets of real people, whom he can then control. He has a psionic ability that enables him to bind the person and the puppet. He mainly battles and fails to defeat the Fantastic Four.

The Vulture – Aquarius
The Vulture, Adrian Toomes, made his first appearance in Amazing Spider-Man #2, which was published on February 12, 1963, with a cover date of May 1963. Toomes is a brilliant electronics engineer who designed a winged suit that allows him to fly. In addition, he is he first supervillain Spider-Man faces, and he became a recurring enemy and founding member of the supervillain team known as the Sinister Six.
Doctor Octopus, or Dr. Otto Gunther Octavius, first appeared in “Amazing Spider-Man” #3, published on April 9, 1963, with a July 1962 cover date. In a tragic lab accident, his mechanical harness fused permanently to his body. Consequently, he embraced a life of crime, which inevitably led to clashes with Spider-Man. His sinister path forged one of the most enduring rivalries in Marvel history. He has endured as one of Spider-Man’s greatest villains, and is regarded as one of his top three archenemies, including the Green Goblin and Venom. Moreover, he is the founder and leader of the Sinister Six.

Magneto – Cancer
Magento, Max Eisenhardt, made his first appearance in X-Men #1, which was published on July 2, 1963, with a cover date of Sep 1963. Magneto regards mutants as superior to humans and rejects the idea of peaceful human-mutant coexistence. Initially, he wanted to conquer the world to enable mutants to replace humans as the dominant species. In later versions of the character, writers portrayed him as a Holocaust survivor. His extreme methods and cynical philosophy stem from this tragic past. He is determined to protect mutants from suffering the same fate. Finally, this conviction drives his resolve against human persecution.

The Mandarin – Scorpio
The Mandarin, recently identified as Xu Wenwu in the movie Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, first appeared in Tales of Suspense #50. Marvel published this issue on November 12, 1963, with a February 1963 cover date. Furthermore, they characterize him as a tyrant attempting to conquer the world. Regarded as a genius scientist and a skilled martial artist, his primary sources of power are ten rings. He modified these rings from a crashed spaceship, and each ring holds a unique power and is worn on a specific finger. However, the latest canon from the movie depicts the rings as wrist-sized bands. This change in presentation brings a fresh take on his iconic powers.
Ultron debuted in “Avengers” #55, which hit shelves on June 11, 1968, and had an August 1968 cover date. He stands out as a self-aware, highly intelligent android. Possessing a god complex, he harbors a grudge against his creator, Hank Pym. Ultron’s contentious relationship with Pym shapes much of his villainous drive. In the most recent appearance in the Marvel films, he is created by Tony Stark, Iron Man. His goal is to destroy humanity, making him a recurring villain of the Avengers.
Thanos – Scorpio
Thanos first appeared in Iron Man #55, which Marvel published on October 31, 1972. Notably, the issue carried a February 1973 cover date. An Eternal–Deviant warlord from the moon Titan, Thanos is one of the most powerful beings in the Marvel Universe. Indeed, he has clashed with the Avengers, the Guardians of the Galaxy, the Fantastic Four, and the X-Men. He is now famously known for the Thanos Snap. Rather appropriate that he would be a Scorpio, the sign that rules death and rebirth.
