Monthly Astrology Forecast: Venus and Your Relationships
December 31, 2019
Astrology follows the motion of the solar system, deciphering meaning from the position of the Sun, Moon, planets, asteroids, and calculated points. Throughout each month different points form angular relationships with one another known as aspects. Key aspects include the conjunction, square, trine, and opposition.
This article will look at the important aspects Venus will form this month. Venus represents the body, how we relate to others, and how we appreciate life’s pleasures. There will be three key aspects for Venus this month: one with Juno, another with Mars, and the last one with Neptune.
Venus
Venus, the Goddess of Love and Beauty, represents how we relate to others and want them to relate to us. She rules our sense of beauty and what we enjoy for entertainment. She has dual rulership of Taurus and Libra, and the 2nd and 7th Houses.

In Taurus, she rules over our body and our resources, what we need to feel physically connected and satisfied and what we need in terms of resources to feel safe. In Libra, she rules the contracts we make with others to have binding and healthy relationships out in the world.
Venus Trine Juno (January 3, 2020) – Say Yes!
Juno, the Queen of Heaven, represents the duty of parenting and the commitment of marriage. As a goddess, Juno ruled childbirth and marriage, and the status one must or should achieve to do both successfully. Still considered a new point in astrology, even though Demetra George wrote extensively about this asteroid in her book Asteroid Goddesses, published in 1986 (reissued in 2003), Juno has not been assigned rulership of a sign or house.
In my own professional work, I am comfortable assigning her co-rulership with her heavenly husband, Jupiter, in the 9th House and the sign of Sagittarius. She essentially rules the beliefs regarding the role of the matriarch in society. In your astrology chart, she represents energy devoted to doing what is necessary.
The trine aspect creates support between two points; they “encounter each other” in the same element. At this time Venus is in Aquarius and Juno is in Libra. During the period of this trine, the point involving relating and the point involving duty and commitment will flow with each other. This would be an ideal time to propose, deepen a commitment, or go on a first date (energy similar to Mercury trine Juno, which is also happening this month).
Venus in Aquarius has the keynote, “attachments are idealistic and impersonal”, and the symbol is, “a group of young people admire a statue of Aphrodite in a museum” (168). Juno in Libra has the keynote, “commitments must be fair for both parties”, and the symbol is, “both people getting married happily say ‘I do’”.

Between December 31st and January 6th, this can be a great time to say, “Yes!” to any steps that will deepen your commitment to an existing relationship or help you launch forward to find a new relationship.
Venus Square Mars (January 24, 2020) – Fight or Flight!
Mars, the God of War, represents our primal drive, our passion, and our sexual urge. He rules Aries and the 1st House of Identity in modern astrology. In traditional astrology, he was also the ruler of Scorpio and the 8th House of Transformation and Shared Resources. Now, Pluto rules that sign and house. Which sign and house Mars occupies in your chart indicates the way you express and act on your passions and how you prefer to assert yourself.
The square aspect seeks to challenge energies to force growth; points “encounter each other” from disparate elements, in this case, water and fire. At this time Venus is in Pisces and Mars is in Sagittarius. During the period of this square, the point involving relating and the point involving aggression will test each other.
Venus in Pisces has the keynote, “devotion is expressed through sacrificial service”, and the symbol is, “a nurse massages a patient’s feet” (179). With Mars moving through Sagittarius at this time, the keynote is, “ambitiously conceived projects are carried out enthusiastically” and the symbol is, “a ‘bronco buster’ at a rodeo keeps his seat on a spirited steed” (148).
Between January 21st and January 27th, this can be a very volatile time for your relationships. Mars will have no trouble being selfish and demanding and Venus will try to be adaptive and passive, causing both to aggravate the other. If there are problems, this period of time will make them stand out and try to force you to address them.
Neptune represents spiritual energy, dreams, and the collective unconscious; it is the ocean of consciousness. Neptune rules mystery, the unknown, and spiritual connection through the sign of Pisces and the 12th House of Spirituality and Soul Purpose. It is a water point that is generational, spending around 17 years in a sign. Currently, Neptune is moving through the sign it rules, Pisces, which it entered in 2010 and will leave in 2026.

With Neptune moving through Pisces at this time, the entire planet is getting spiritually awakened. Neptune’s influence is never direct, never even easy to assess. A simple joke describes the essence of Neptune: two young fish are swimming along, an older fish approaches them and says, as he swims by, “hey boys, how’s the water?” The young fish respond, “fine” and keep swimming. Not long after, one of the young fish says to the other, “what’s water?”
Venus in Pisces has the keynote, “devotion is expressed through sacrificial service”, and the symbol is, “a nurse massages a patient’s feet” (179). The keynote for Neptune in Pisces is, “the power of spirit moves through all individuals” and the symbol is, “a beggar and a wealthy person share food and philosophy on a park bench”.
Between January 24th and January 30th, we will all have a chance to feel and experience a mystical connection with someone. This may be in the form of a soul mate, or even a twin flame. The connections may or may not be positive, but they will be as intense a connection as possible if one does happen during this alignment.
